GLOBAL HERITAGE FUND
C2 is consulting with the Global Heritage Fund on their Mirador Basin project.   Described as the Cradle of Maya Civilization, El Mirador is home to some of the earliest and largest Pre-classic Maya archeological sites in Mesoamerica .   GHF's project, the Mirador Archaeological and Wildlife Preserve, is a proposed 525,100 acre protected area located in the heart of the Maya Biosphere in northern Guatemala's Peten region.   According to the World Wildlife Fund, the Maya Biosphere has lost 70% of its forests in the last ten years with corresponding loss of habitat for wildlife and increased looting of archeological sites.   Establishment of the reserve is the last chance to protect the remaining forests of the Maya Biosphere from total environmental catastrophe.   C2 is working with GHF to insure the environmental , archeological, cultural and economic success of the project.
